Request:
1) So please provide the periodic eg monthly figures on arrests,
2) arrest audits and
3) how many of those arrests are considered by the force to have been illegal - that would be a good start.
4) How many letters or other communications have been sent to members of the public that the police have found through their internal checks to have been arrested illegally. Feel free to go back as far as you can, obviously within the time allowed.

Response 2:
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.
Custody has a robust Quality Assurance process in place. This consists of the following.
Monthly Auditing of approximately 100 records by the 4 Custody Inspectors of their units.
This number can vary depending on certain numbers of detainees such as Use of Force, Foreign Nationals, but the minimum is 100.
A weekly Quality Assurance process of 10 records per week (40 per month) monitoring the above and improvements made
A monthly deep dive into 48 hours of Custody records across all units. Completed by Custody Services leads. This will depend on the number of detainees but averages around 35 to 40.
There is also a bi monthly Custody Independent scrutiny panel that review thematic areas such as Children in custody and vulnerabilities. This is approximately 30 records every 2 months.
