Request:

If you are able to provide any data you have on the number of individual drivers stopped by Dyfed-Powys officers for exceeding 20mph, for the time period specified, that would be useful too.

Response:

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, the details of which are as follows:

• For the period covering 01/01/24 – 26/11/24 there were a total of 7 individuals stopped by a Dyfed Powys police officer for exceeding a 20mph speed limit and subsequently issued and complied with a conditional offer for excess speed (i.e. points on their licence and a fine).

Please note: The information outlined above relates only to instances in which an individual was stopped by a Dyfed-Powys Police officer for exceeding a 20mph speed limit and subsequently issued and complied with a conditional offer for excess speed (i.e. points and their licence and a fine).  The information does not include instances in which an individual has been dealt with via a speed awareness course, Single Justice Procedure, a caution or no further action (NFA) for exceeding a 20mph speed limit. Due to the way data/information is stored on the relevant systems it is likely that a response to this part would not be retrievable within 18 hour time limit/threshold, which would result in the application of a Section 12(1) exemption.
