Request:
In relation to training and guidance available to police officers.
1) What books, films, TV programmes, poems, songs, artworks and other examples artistic output has been flagged as linked to terrorism and radicalisation ?
In particular, radicalism in relation to the far-right
For example, an internal guidance document may provide a list of book linked to far-right thought
2) What internal guidance is available to staff on identifying books, films, TV programmes, poems, songs, artworks and other artistic output that could be deemed as connected to terrorism and radicalisation? Perhaps it was created by an external training provider
In particular, radicalism in relation to the far-right
For example, could guides to far-right symbolism, like the use of Nordic runes by far-right groups
Response:
I can confirm that there is no information held by Dyfed Powys Police in respect of the specific information requested, however I can advise the following –
Officers/Staff are expected to maintain a good understanding of current affairs, to be professionally curious and responsible for developing their own awareness of issues affecting policing and communities. One means of doing so is via publicly accessible mainstream media, publications and documentaries, etc. We encourage officers and staff to regularly make themselves aware of various wide ranging forms of these publications.
