Request:
I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding the use of naloxone by your police force. Specifically, I would like to know:
- The date the rollout began.
- The number of officers to whom naloxone has been distributed.
- Please confirm if a pilot program took place.
- Provide details on the dates of the pilot.
- Indicate which geographical area or division within your police force participated in the pilot.

Response Q1
Officers and PCSOs carry naloxone however this is on a voluntary basis.
Response Q2
The initial roll out was 11th July 2023.
620 officers have been issued with naloxone.
Response Q3
Nyxoid Pilot was approved on 14.10.2022 at the Strategic CJ, Custody and Investigations Board meeting.
The force did run a pilot in 4 areas of the Force being:
Aberystwyth, Llandrindod Wells, Pembroke Dock and Llanelli.
The pilot ran from 1st December 2021 until 31st May 2022.
