Response 3:
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.
2021 – x1 recorded as didn’t meet threshold - Not accurately recorded
2022 – x10 recorded as didn’t meet threshold - Not accurately recorded
2023 – x59 applications did not meet threshold (No reasons recorded)
2024 – x88 applications did not meet threshold (Reasons below)
Response 4:
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.
2024 –
x6 Doesn’t meet DVDS criteria – ‘Person at Risk’ doesn’t reside in DPP
x40 Doesn’t meet DVDS criteria – Not in a current relationship
x20 Doesn’t meet DVDS criteria – Incorrect application
x22 Doesn’t meet DVDS criteria – Pre-Dashboard (No reason recorded)
Please note: Dyfed-Powys Police only started recording the reason in April 2024. MARAC (multi-agency risk assessment conference) only began to hold responsibility for recording DVDS (Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme) in 2021, prior to this all requests were dealt with on division and record of disclosures given were created via intel logs. Any applications that didn’t meet threshold were completed without record. Without knowing who the applicants were pre 2021 then there would be no scope to research the intelligence system.
It should be noted that as a result of the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such information that the information released may or may not be accurate.
Furthermore, it should also be noted that Police forces in the United Kingdom are routinely required to provide crime statistics to government bodies and the recording criteria is set nationally. However, the systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the crime data. It should be noted that for these reasons this force's response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other response you may receive.
