FOI Reference: 14/2025
Request:
For Dyfed-Powys, records are (partially) missing in the financial year(s) 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24. Therefore, under the Freedom of Information Act I request the following information:
A Dataset (.ods, .csv or .xlsx) containing all police recorded hate crime offences recorded by the Dyfed-Powys police force in the financial year(s) 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24 disaggregated by
i) Community Safety Partnership (CSP) area,
ii) motivating factor and
iii) month. I.e. every row should show the total number of hate crimes committed by a certain motivating factor in a certain month in a certain CSP area. The motivating factors covered should include "Disability", "Race", "Sexual Orientation", "Religion" and "Transgender Identity".
Response i:
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.

It should be noted that as a result of the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such information that the information released may or may not be accurate.
Furthermore, it should also be noted that Police forces in the United Kingdom are routinely required to provide crime statistics to government bodies and the recording criteria is set nationally. However, the systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the crime data. It should be noted that for these reasons this force's response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other response you may receive.
