HMOs in Llanelli 907/2025

Request

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs) within the Dyfed Powys Police jurisdiction.

Specifically, I would like to receive the following information for the most recent 12-month period available:

1. The total number of licensed HMOs in the Llanelli Town areas of Bigyn, Elli, Glanymor, Lliedi and Tyisha areas
2. The total number of police-reported incidents, complaints, or calls for service related to these HMOs.
3. A brief summary or breakdown of the types of incidents reported (e.g., noise complaints, anti-social behaviour, safety concerns).

Response Q1

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does not hold the information requested, this is due to the fact we don’t have a list of HMOs.

Please note: Local councils may be able to provide this data. The following email address has been provided for Carmarthenshire County Council - [email protected], which may be of assistance.

Response Q2 & Q3

We are unable respond to Q2 & Q3 without being provided with a list of addresses that are licenced / registered HMOs.

Unfortunately we are unable to keyword search on our system to narrow down the search for information requested for HMOs, as any properties with a number of rooms/flats within are not recorded as a HMO on the system. Also, the system does not differentiate between council wards, i.e. Bigyn, Lliedi, etc.
