Request
I am writing to make a request for the below outlined information. I am looking to find out about your use of Live Facial Recognition (LFR) technology in 2025.
Please note, my terminology is from this explainer document (https://www.south-wales.police.uk/police-forces/south-wales-police/areas/about-us/about-us/facial-recognition-technology/live-facial-recognition-technology-terms-and-definitions/) and my requests are based on publicly reported metrics (https://www.met.police.uk/SysSiteAssets/media/downloads/force-content/met/advice/lfr/other-lfr-documents/live-facial-recognition-annual-report-2025.pdf)
Response
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does not hold the information requested, due to the fact that the force does not have any live facial recognition (LFR) capability.
(This is a response under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and disclosed on 22/04/2026)
