FOI Reference: 594/2026
Request:
How many dog attacks have taken place in Ystradgynlais parks/open spaces in the past 3 years including Diamond Park/Coronation Park/Ystradgynlais Welfare Grounds (rugby club) TikTock fields and surrounding area
Response:
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.
During the period 01/01/2023 – 24/06/2026, there were 2 `Owner or person in charge allowing dog to be dangerously out of control in any place in England and Wales (whether or not in a public place) injuring any person or assistance dog’ offences identified in an open space in Ystradgynlais. However, these offences occurred on a street rather than a park.
It is important to note that these offences only include dog attacks resulting in an injury as non-injury dog attacks are non-notifiable offences. The information is provided in the wider context of your request for “open spaces”, which includes streets.
(This is a response under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and disclosed on 29/06/2026)
