FOI Reference: 386/2022
Request:
Pls could you provide any examples between July 31, 2020, and May 1, 2022, when the force has 'decolonised' any of its training materials for new officers?
This would include examples where forces had actively sought to 'decolonise' training material and referred to the process as such.
In October 2021 the College of Policing published guidance which suggested forces should 'decolonise' any training materials for new officers.
It may be that any 'decolonisation' was carried out in response to this guidance.
Where examples of decolonisation of training material is identified, pls could you outline what has been removed/altered with pictorial examples of the original and the changed version.
Response:
I can confirm that there is no information held in respect of your request as Dyfed Powys police has not ‘decolonised’ any of its training materials for new officers to date.
It should be noted that owing to the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such matters the information provided may or may not be accurate. However, the systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data. It should be noted that for these reasons this Force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other response you may receive.
