Request:
Query about how long the information is held on body worn cameras and what are the parameters for keeping the information for a longer period of time.
Have spoken to various other forces and it seems that the general consensus is that it automatically deletes after a month unless there is pending legal action.
Response:
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested. If BWV (Body Worn Video) is not categorised by the officer, it will be automatically deleted after 31 days. The categories and retention periods are shown below for your information.

Sudden Death - 16 Years
Evidential - 7 Years
Relevant Unused Material - 7 Years
Stop and Search - 1 Year / 365 Days
Potential Compliant - 1 Year / 365 Days
Not Relevant - Delete 31 Days
