Missing person reports 293/2022

Request:

1. A breakdown of the total number of calls made to Dyfed-Powys Police  that were reportinga missing person for the following years:

2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021

Please breakdown the number of calls by:

• Risk level from low, medium and high;
• The number of calls where the person was of no risk or absent;
• The number of persons that were found in the corresponding risk groups;

Please clearly differentiate between the number of reports made and the number of persons found.

And if there was a call made reporting the same missing persons, please only include as one to avoid duplication.

Response:  

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.

The number of persons that were found in the corresponding risk groups:

* Dyfed Powys do not use the category “Absent”

Please note: The current computer recording software only came into proper use in around 2015. Therefore, to retrieve information prior to 2015 would be likely to exceed the appropriate time limit, i.e. 18 hours, and would be inaccurate in any case.  

It should be noted that as a result of the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such information that the information released may or may not be accurate.
