The conduct that is subject matter of the case: |
It is alleged that on 23rd July 2022 PC Aitken used an unreasonable and disproportionate amount of force on a member of the public, which included striking the member of the public in the back of the head when he was prone on the ground in handcuffs.
It is also alleged that PC Aitken shouted at the member of the public in a confrontational and aggressive manner, goading him and referring to him as a ‘dickhead’.
If proven, this behaviour would amount to a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to ‘Use of Force’ and ‘Authority, Respect and Courtesy’.
