Dyfed-Powys Police is backing a call from end-of-life charity Marie Curie to support the National Day of Reflection 2022.
National Day of Reflection is a day to support the millions of people who have been bereaved during the pandemic and to reflect on the lives of family, friends, neighbours, and colleagues who have died. The day is a time to pause, reflect and support each other whether of any belief or none.
Dyfed-Powys Police Chief Constable, Dr Richard Lewis said: “On the National Day of Reflection, Dyfed-Powys Police will pause and pay tribute to those who have lost their lives from Covid and other causes during this past year.
“As Chief Constable, I have witnessed first-hand how our local communities have rallied around to care for those affected by grief. Simple acts of kindness go further than ever before, and we are lifted by compassion and hope.
“People are still struggling, and Dyfed-Powys Police will continue to support our communities throughout these challenging times.
“Today, on the National Day of Reflection, we will hold a minute’s silence at noon to reflect on those who have died and connect with others who have been bereaved. Later, we will join others across the UK and light a candle to show our support for the cause and for those who cannot be with us today.”
