Ross joined Dyfed-Powys Police in 2002 and was first posted to Llanelli.
Since that time, he has worked in a wide variety of roles across the force area in uniform, CID and central departments. These include intelligence, specialist operations, offender management, corporate services and neighbourhood policing.
He has served as a Superintendent since 2017.
In addition to working in Carmarthenshire, Ross served for several years in Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion as DCI and Superintendent for both counties. He has overseen force investigations, major crime and covert policing as a Detective Superintendent and has previously been a Senior Investigating Officer for kidnap and major investigations. He is an experienced gold and firearms commander who completed an attachment with the City of London Police during the Diamond Jubilee and 2012 Olympics.
He has a BA from Trinity St David’s University and an MsC in Police Leadership from Warwick University.
In July 2024 he commenced his role as Temporary Detective Chief Superintendent, as Head of CID.
