Jolene’s roots trace back to her early upbringing in Rhayader, Powys. Her journey with Dyfed-Powys Police commenced in 2002, when she proudly joined as a volunteer Special Constable. Transitioning to the role of Police Constable in Newtown in 2003 marked the beginning of her professional journey. In 2006, she became a Detective Constable within the Newtown Criminal Investigation Department (CID). In 2008, Jolene moved to Ammanford CID, and subsequently achieved the rank of Sergeant in 2011. Serving as a response Sergeant in Carmarthen and Llanelli, she subsequently took on the role of Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant in Carmarthen in 2013.
Later, Jolene transitioned to a supervisory position in the force Professional Standards Department, before attaining the rank of Inspector in 2015, overseeing operational policing across the rural sections of Llanelli. In 2017, she assumed the role of Force Incident Manager at the Force Communication Centre. In 2018, Jolene achieved promotion to the rank of Chief Inspector, Carmarthenshire, where she performed a number of various roles, including the supervision of Operational Policing, Strategic Partnerships, and moved to oversee work of the Demand and Performance Team, in Police Headquarters.
In 2022, Jolene was seconded to the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC), as a Temporary Superintendent, serving as the Performance Management Coordination Committee Coordinator under the leadership of Chief Constable Dr Richard Lewis. Returning to Dyfed-Powys Police in 2023, Jolene has assumed the role of Temporary Head of Specialist Operations. In the same year, Jolene accomplished earning a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Policing (Operational & Strategic Leadership).
In April 2024 Jolene was promoted to the rank of Superintendent and will continue in her role as Head of Specialist Operations.
Beyond her professional commitments, Jolene enjoys fulfilling family life in Carmarthenshire. Married with two children, her daughter is carving a nursing career in the United Arab Emirates, while Jolene enjoys a Sunday morning, stood at the side-lines watching her young son play rugby. Jolene has a passion for running and enjoys walking along the coastline.
