Superintendent Steve Davies LPA Commander Ceredigion
Steve joined Dyfed-Powys Police in 2001 and was first posted to Aberystwyth. Since that time he has worked in a variety of roles at different ranks across the counties of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys and also at Headquarters.
At the rank of Detective Chief Inspector, Steve performed Force SIO duties and led homicide and other major crime investigation. He also became an experienced Tactical Firearms Commander whilst in the role of Uniform Chief Inspector.
During 2019, Steve was temporarily promoted to Detective Superintendent during which time he became an accredited PIP 3 Senior Investigating Officer. In 2020 he was posted to Powys as Divisional Commander with the additional portfolio of Neighbourhood Policing. During this period Steve became an accredited Strategic Firearm and Gold Commander which are roles he continues to perform.
In August 2022, Steve was seconded to a Force Review Project to identify financial savings as part of the wider focus on public finances. In May 2023 Steve returned to territorial policing assuming the role of Divisional Commander for Ceredigion.
Steve lives in Aberystwyth with his wife and has two grown up sons.
