This is all aimed to help improve your effectiveness and preparation for the role.
Benefits: There are a range of benefits to joining the police, including but not limited to; receive a starting salary of £31,164, and will rise to £50,256 after 7 years, generous pension, 22 days annual leave and career progression opportunities!
How we can support you
Military veterans transitioning into a policing career with Dyfed-Powys will be supported with a range of resources, you will have access to tailored assistance throughout recruitment as well as when you start.
Recruitment Officer: We have a dedicated veteran recruitment officer who can support you throughout the application process as well as answer and liaise any questions or concerns you may have.
Veterans Support Network: We offer a staff support network dedicated to veterans - offering them internal peer support by fostering a sense of belonging, identity, and wellbeing among veterans within the force.
Armed Forces Covenant: We are dedicated to treating those who have served in the Armed Forces with respect and fairness. To demonstrate our promise, we have been awarded a Silver standard Covenant.
Buddy Scheme: You will have the chance when you start your role, to have a workplace buddy who is a fellow veteran. They will be able to help aid your transition into the police force and offer advice, guidance and general knowledge into the organisation.
Positive Action: We are committed to recruiting more people from our diverse communities in order to be fully representative of the communities we serve, and we understand veterans may require extra support.
