The force area covers 4,188 square miles over the 4 geographic counties Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire & Powys. It is geographically the largest police force in England and Wales and is regarded as one of the finest areas of great contrasts as you encounter differing landscapes from breathtaking mountains to vast golden beaches, peaceful green valleys as well as bustling market towns.

We boast more than 350 miles of stunning coastline, including Barafundle – voted the World’s best beach more than once. The awe inspiring Brecon Beacons mountain range and the UK’s smallest cathedral city, St. David’s in Pembrokeshire.
Even though our area is beautiful, our diverse regions offer their own unique challenges rural crime, cross-border criminality, and the demands associated with two significant sea ports and major energy installations. The long stretches of coastline, vast mountainous areas and the many remote communities create challenges in narrowing down potential criminal pathways. And the huge boost in population over the summer months make out tourist towns swell, with implications for crime and roads policing team.
