NPPT officers in response to community concerns that vehicles are speeding past Llanelwedd primary school will carry out sporadic targeted activity, utilising approved device to capture vehicle speeds.
This priority will from January-March 2026.

This operation was conducted in June with staff from Go Safe, RPU and local Neighbourhood Officers, conducting speed checks along the A483 on Garth road Builth Wells due to residence concern of speed. With over 421 vehicles passing through the location in both directions, resulting in 6 HGVS warned re speeding (26mph to 27mph), 16 cars (speeding between 26mph to 29mph) 1 x Traffic Offence Report for speeding (33mph) and another TOR for cord exposed on a tyre.

Neighbourhood Policing will continue to patrol areas of the Groe, Cattle market and Royal Welsh Show Ground in Builth Wells and Llanelwedd. Regular patrols will continue to be conducted to monitor and disrupt any ASB and criminal activity.
This priority will run from April- June 2026.

Extensive patrols were conducted by officers resulting in a decrease in the ASB incidents and criminal damage reports that were being received in these areas.
Community feedback was positive and neighbourhood officers attended at several of the events leading up to Builth Carnival.
The Neighbourhood team were delighted to welcome and talk with so many members of the community at their stand as part of the Groe carnival celebrations which also saw positive action being taken against vapes and drugs.

Community concerns have been raised in relation to drug activity and associated ASB in the vicinity of the Groe.
Regular patrols will be conducted to monitor and disrupt this behaviour.
This priority will be a focus for January-March 2026.

Regular high visibility patrols have been conducted in these identified areas between January and March, including a ‘Meet the Street’ event in Builth Wells High Street.
We have also received reports of ASB taking place at the RWAS. This issue has successfully been tackled by the Neighbourhood team, who will continue to monitor this area.

During this period, neighbourhood officers have conducted extensive foot and mobile patrols in the area.
Unfortunately, Police have received reports of criminal damage to the Electrical charging points at the Groe. During September, Oaklands Crescent park has become an area where young people have been causing criminal damage and ASB.
The neighbourhood team will continue to focus on this priority, expanding the patrolling area to Oaklands and the Castle.
