Vehicle insurance - 163/2021
Do you hold the following information?
1. With respect to your entire fleet of police vehicles please confirm;
a. What, if any, vehicle insurance policies do you have in place
b. What is the level of coverage of each policy (i.e. Comprehensive or Third Party)
c. What type of damage/loss does each policy cover
d. Specifically please confirm whether any policy provides for compensation and/or any other monetary payment for personal injury/losses suffered by police officers driving police vehicles, who are injured when authorised “pre-emptive” Tactical Pursuit and Containment measures (to include, but not limited to tactical contact of a suspect vehicle) are executed by them.
e. Specifically please confirm whether any policy provides for compensation and/or any other monetary payment for personal injury/losses suffered by police officers who are being carried as a passenger in a police vehicle, who are injured when authorised “pre-emptive” Tactical Pursuit and Containment measures (to include, but not limited to tactical contact of a suspect vehicle) are executed by the
driver of their Police Vehicle
2.) Do you have any other (non-vehicle) insurance policies that provide for compensation and/or any other monetary payment for personal injury/losses suffered by police officers injured in circumstances as described in 1d. and 1e. above. If so please provide details of those policies and scope of coverage.
