I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, the details of which are as follows:
1) Yes. We signpost officers to the following websites
Oscar Kilo (The National Police Wellbeing Service | Oscar Kilo
BLWF (Blue Light Wellbeing Framework (BLWF) | Oscar Kilo)
We also signpost officers to Counselling services, if appropriate.
2) Yes. Student officers receive a full day training on personal resilience, wellbeing and stress management. The first half day comprises of inputs from Occupational Health, the Force Counsellor, and the Police Federation.
The 2nd half day comprises of psychoeducation around stress management and trauma response, including a lived experience input from a medically retired member of staff with PTSD. They are given information on how to recognise stress and trauma reactions, understanding signs and symptoms, and when & how to receive help.
Wider wellbeing training is delivered to Detectives on the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences Investigative Skills Development Programme (RISDP), the Professionalising Investigations Programme (PIP2), and the Specialist Child Abuse Investigation Development Programme (SCAIDP).
The inputs include recognising possible signs and symptoms of stress & burnout as well as Information on services offered by the Occupational Health Unit (OHU) and the various support services and organisations available.
3) Generally, the Occupational Health Unit (OHU) currently provide this service as well as other OHU services. They use wellbeing fayres with an Oscar Kilo van and OK9 dogs, Counsellors, and Occupational Health Advisor (OHA) drop-in days to stations. The Police Federation, Police Mutual Chaplaincy and Unison also participate in these days.
4) Yes. We conduct specific signposting to ongoing events and monthly wellbeing topics.
