Response 5:
Dyfed-Powys Police does not have an ‘Information Governance Policy’, although we have a number of policies covering information governance.
We have a Records Management Policy which covers retention/disposal.
In respect to retention and disposal, the Force is required to follow the requirements as set out in the College of Policing Authorised Professional Practice (APP) on Information Management available @ Information management | College of Policing. The relevant section being ‘Management of police information’.
The Force is also required to follow the Microsoft Word - NPCC Review Retention and Disposal Schedule 2020 v4 (cheshire.police.uk).
A number of ‘Information Governance’ policies are published on the Dyfed-Powys Police website @ Our policies and procedures | Dyfed-Powys Police namely:
Data Protection Policy
Data Protection Breach Policy
Data Protection Compliance Audit Policy
Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) Policy
Freedom of Information Policy
Government Security Classification Policy
Please note: If you are seeking any other areas under ‘information governance’ other than retention, please specify further what areas of ‘information governance’ you are particularly interested in, and I will seek to provide it for you.
It should be noted that as a result of the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such information that the information released may or may not be accurate.
