Request:
Any information pertaining to a possible low flying event in January of 1983 near the town of Llanilar, Wales. A local farmer awoke to discover metallic and other debris scattered over his land. This was prior to the night of January 2nd 1983 and was probably caused by a low-flying aircraft that hit the tops of trees on the farmers land scattering this material across his field and in nearby woods. According to the farmer and local reports no aircraft crashed and it was just this debris. The farmer informed the local police and most of the debris was recovered by the Ministry of Defence.
What I would like to ask for information on is this:
1: Do you still have a report on this incident as it was reported to the police by the farmer in question. If you do may I request a copy please.
2: Can you confirm that local police assisted in the recovery of this debris.
3: Were you informed of the origin of the aircraft involved. Was it a civilian or military aircraft.
Response:
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does not hold the information requested, as no documentation relating to any event similar to that requested has been located.
