Clarification Q:
With regards to your request - How many apprentices are in the Force, how many go through the medium of Welsh and how many bilingually?
Can you please be more specific as to what information you are requesting please.
Clarification A:
Clarification Q:
what exactly do you mean by apprentices. i.e.
Please can you be more specific so that we provide a meaningful response to you
Clarification A:
Sorry for the confusion, it was the number of those following an apprenticeship in order to become police officers, and the number of those following an apprenticeship in Welsh to become police officers.
We would assume that means those following the police officer apprenticeship route and those following the two-year apprenticeship programme.
Response:
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.
Police Constables apprenticeship route (PCDA): 143
New to role apprenticeships on a fixed term 2 year apprenticeship programme: 12
PCDA entry route student Police Constables, PEQF:
Welsh – 0
Bilingually – 0
The external training provider will provide the resources relating to the apprenticeship.
Dyfed-Powys Police will provide the induction to the role of the apprenticeship.
Police Officer apprenticeship route (PCDA) - Resources for students following the PCDA entry route for PEQF are available in Welsh should they so wish but all students so far, have opted to follow material provided in English.
