Request:
My request relates to sexual assaults and rapes reported to have taken place in prisons.
Please could you provide the following information. Please note there are two parts to my request.
- How many sexual assaults have been reported to your force where the location of the sexual assaults was recorded as “prison”, since 1 January 2010 up until 31 December 2022
- How many rapes have been reported to your force where the location of the sexual assaults was recorded as “prison”, since 1 January 2010 up until 31 December 2022
In order to complete this freedom of information request, please can you complete a keyword search where “prison” or “HMP” is listed as the premises name.
Response:
I can confirm that there is no information held/recorded as there are zero (0) prisons within the Dyfed-Powys Police force area.
It should be noted that owing to the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such matters the information provided may or may not be accurate. It should be noted that for these reasons this Force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other response you may receive.
