Request:
Police forces can restrict contact between officers and their partners or spouses in circumstances where officers are alleged to have perpetrated domestic abuse.
The Court of Appeal in Philpot v The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis [2023] EWCA Civ 66 upheld a decision that the restriction imposed on PC Philpot that he should have “no direct or indirect contact” [14] with his wife was “proportional on the facts of this case” [54].
- Please provide the number of officers currently restricted from having direct or indirect contact with their partners or spouses because of alleged domestic abuse.
- Please provide the number of officers who in 2021/22 failed to adhere to restrictions you imposed that they have no contact with their partners or spouses.

I can confirm that there is no information held by Dyfed-Powys Police as there are zero cases in which this ruling applies.

I can confirm that there is no information held by Dyfed-Powys Police as there are zero officers in 2021/22 relevant to your request.
