Request:

• 1)How many people have been placed on databases because they expressed a view on transgender issues?

• 2)How many people have you requested to come in for an interview in relations to a comment they have made in regards to transgender issues?

• 3)How many people have been charged with committing a criminal offence or a non-crime hate incident in relation to a comment they have made in regards to transgender issues?

Clarification:

Clarification was sought and the applicant was requesting information for the past ten years.

Response 1& 2:

I can confirm that there is no information held/recorded by Dyfed Powys police in respect of questions 1 – 2 of your request i.e. zero records of individuals placed on database or interviewed.

Response 3:

I can confirm that information is held by Dyfed Powys police and is as follows:

From 2013  onwards there have been a total of zero individuals charged committing a criminal offence or a non-crime hate incident in relation to a comment they have made in regards to transgender issues

It should be noted that owing to the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such matters the information provided may or may not be accurate. Police Forces in the United Kingdom are routinely required to provide crime statistics to government bodies and the recoding criteria is set nationally.  However, the systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  It should be noted that for these reasons this Force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other response you may receive.
