Request:

• How many individual dogs are currently actively employed in your dog section / dog support unit? Could I have this figure for every year 2010-present.

• How many individual horses are currently actively employed in your force mounted unit (if such a unit exists). Could I have this figure for every year 2010-present.

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, the details of which are as follows:

2010 – 32 dogs

2011 – 37 dogs

2012 – 40 dogs

2013 – 34 dogs

2014 – 36 dogs

2015 – 35 dogs

2016 – 42 dogs

2017 – 34 dogs

2018 – 33 dogs

2019 – 29 dogs

2020 – 29 dogs

2021 – 32 dogs

2022 – 28 dogs

2023 – 30 dogs

I can confirm that there is no information held/recorded by Dyfed-Powys Police as we do not have a mounted section.

It should be noted that owing to the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such matters the information provided may or may not be accurate.
