Request:

1. The total number of registered sex offenders in your jurisdiction who have legally changed their name by deed poll in the last three years (from 2020 to 2023). Please provide an annual breakdown if possible.
2. The gender breakdown (male, female, other) of registered sex offenders who have changed their name by deed poll in the specified period.
3. The number of registered sex offenders who have changed their gender in the specified period.
4. For the above, the number who notified of a change from male to female and female to male.

Response 1:

Please note: The information provided below for all questions as of 19/10/23 only. The information requested is dynamic in nature and is therefore likely to change on a regular basis.

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, the details of which are as follows:

• 2020 = 5    
• 2021 = 6  
• 2022 = 3    
• 2023 = 3

Please note: The systems utilised by Dyfed Powys Police have two categories per individual/nominal; one category which relates to the ‘sex’ of the individual/nominal and a 2^nd category relating to the ‘gender identity’ of the individual/nominal.

Of the 17 individuals/nominal listed in the response to question 1:

• 14 individuals/nominals have the term male entered in both the ‘sex’ and ‘gender identity’ categories.
• 2 individuals/nominals have the term male entered in the ‘sex’ category and nothing entered in the ‘gender identity’ category.
• 1 individual/nominal have the term male entered in the ‘sex’ category and the term gender fluid entered in the ‘gender identity’ category.

There are zero (0) instances recorded relating to registered sex offenders who have changed their gender in the specified period.
