Can you please provide the following information under the Freedom of Information Act.

1. Statistics and information on the location a child was strip searched (for example, at a station, at home, in schools, etc).
2. Provide a copy of your policy in relation to the location of strip searching of children under stop and search, and any recent changes that have been made.
3. How many strip searches of children, under stop and search, have been carried out in the last 5 years

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.

No Information held, due to the fact that Dyfed-Powys Police does not have a policy. However, this is covered in the CoP APP for Stop & Search and also Code A of PACE which govern the exercise by police officers of statutory powers to search a person.

2019 – 2x Public street / highway, 2x At a station

2020 – Nil

2021 – 1x Care home, 1x At a station

2022 – Nil

2023 – 3x Car park, 2x At school / college, 2x  Public street / highway, 1x At a station

2024 – 1x Hospital, 1 At the station

2025 (up to 27/01/2025) – N/A

Please note:

The volumes above include all stop and searches of subjects under the age of 18, whereby more than outer clothing was removed.

It should be noted that as a result of the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such information that the information released may or may not be accurate.
