Request
Please provide any documents related to the provision of casualty care kits on operational vehicles and any other first aid kits. I am interested in whether tamper seal tags are fitted, post user check procedure and inspection regimes.
Clarification sought
Please can you advise what is meant by documents re documents related to the provision of casualty care kits on operational vehicles and any other first aid kits. Can you provide us with an example of what you are looking for?
Clarification received
So some responses have included an extract of a policy stating how often casualty care/ first aid kits should be checked that all components are present. E.g. weekly, monthly, only if tag is broken, at the start or end of duty etc.
The response should also state whether tags are fitted or not to help aid inspection.
Some responses where available have given a list of standardised contents but this is a nice to have.
Response
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does not hold the information requested, as outlined below, due to the fact that no policy documents are held.
Please note: In order to assist you with this request, the below information has been sought, and has been provided as a gesture of goodwill.
There are no tamper seal tags fitted to any of the first aid kits in force.
Operational vehicle checks are completed on a weekly basis. This includes first aid kits which is the responsibility of each Local Policing Areas (LPA).
First aid kits form part of the H&S inspection and audits, which are carried out by the H&S department on a yearly basis. This is part of a rolling programme.
There are a number of replacement first aid kits for the vehicles, which are held by the H&S department. The station replacement first aid kit is provided by each LPA.
