Request:

Please can you provide the following:

1. A list of the recognised trade unions and staff representative bodies in your organisation.
2. A copy of the recognition agreement between the organisation and the trade union/staff body.
3. A copy of the facility agreement used to determine office access, use of IT equipment and time off for trade union duties.
4. The number of workplace representatives.
5. The number of full-time seconded employees funded by your organisation to do union work full-time.
6. A list of time off taken in the last two financial years by trade union/staff association officials.

Response 1:

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.

The only recognised Trade Union in Dyfed-Powys Police is UNISON, which represents Police Staff only.  

There are no other staff representative bodies.  

For Police Officers there are two organisation that represent their police members which are The Police Federation and the Superintendents Association.

2023/24 home office return data was - The amount of time spent on Trade Union duties e.g. consultation, negotiation, disciplinary, training etc.  - 2,895 hours

and the amount of time spent on Trade Union activities e.g. dealing with internal administration for union, discussing internal union matters.  – 301 hours

2022/23 home office return data was - The amount of time spent on Trade Union duties e.g. consultation, negotiation, disciplinary, training etc.  - 2,524 hours

and the amount of time spent on Trade Union activities e.g. dealing with internal administration for union, discussing internal union matters.  – 321 hours
