Request

Please provide the number of Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) issued by Dyfed‑Powys Police in the calendar year 2023 only for offences relating specifically to:

1. Excessive noise from motorcycles, including (but not necessarily limited to) any notices issued under:
• Regulation 54 of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986
• Any other legislation used to enforce motorcycle exhaust noise offences
2. If data on motorcycle noise offences is not available as a discrete category, please provide:
• The number of FPNs issued to motorcycles under any Construction and Use offences
• Any breakdowns available by offence code or description

          If it is not possible to isolate motorcycles, I would appreciate:

• The total number of FPNs issued in 2023 for vehicle noise offences under Regulation 54 or similar
• And an indication of whether motorcycles form a significant proportion of those cases

Clarification received

We wish to know the number of individuals stopped by an officer and issued with a conditional offer for:

RC86068 -  Use a motor vehicle on a road with silencer/exhaust system altered to increase the noise made

And

RC86092 - Use a motor vehicle on a road in a manner as to cause excessive noise.

Could you please advise, as required under Section 16 of the Act, how we might narrow the scope of our request to bring it within the cost limit if it is likely to exceed the limit ?

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below:-

3 motorbike riders were stopped by an officer and issued with a conditional offer for theses offences during this period.

It should be noted that as a result of the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such information that the information released may or may not be accurate.
