FOI Reference: 233/2025
Request:
On the 22nd of February 2025 a picture was posted on X which I have shared with you via this FOI. It depicts one of your stations flying the LGTBQI+ flag. It is (not) the Rainbow flag.
I seek to know if your force applied to the local authority to fly this flag, the date the application was made, and the date approval was given. This flag is not one of the approved flags that can be flown without prior permission.
I would like to understand if the appropriate processes were followed in order for it to be displayed lawfully.
Response:
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, the details of which are as follows:
Dyfed Powys police does not have planning approval to fly flags at this time irrespective if they are LGTBQI+ or otherwise. The flags at the front/main road entrance flagpoles only of the HQ site have been removed.
(This is a response under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and disclosed on 11/03/2025)
