In the last five years, out of all advertised job positions where Welsh is an essential criterion, how many successful applicants have been from either Black ethnic or ethnic minority backgrounds?

There are 5 levels of Welsh. All roles are advertised with a minimum of Welsh Level 1 or achieve this within 6 months of being in post. Please see the link below with information regarding this.

Also, can you clarify if the information requested is for staff and officer positions?

The information for all the Welsh levels and for staff and officer positions.

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.

2020 – 6

2021 – 5

2022 – 5

2023 – 5

2024 – 7

All the successful candidates moved into vacancies that were advertised as Level 1 Welsh.
