Request:

Under the freedom of information act, I would like to request the following information please: 

The number of incidents in schools that your force responded to? 

The number of recorded violent crimes in schools within your force's area please?  

I would like the figures to cover the past five financial years, including 2025.  

Clarification sought:

Please can you confirm what you are referring to as violent crimes? Just violence against the person offences or a wider range, such as robbery, possession of weapons etc?

Clarification received:

With Violent Crimes, I'm referring to crimes in schools where violence has been inflicted against an individual or persons.  However, if your data does additionally include information on possession of weapons in schools, may I ask for it to be broken down / separated for clarity please

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, the details of which are as follows:

It should be noted that owing to the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such matters the information provided may or may not be accurate. Police Forces in the United Kingdom are routinely required to provide crime statistics to government bodies and the recoding criteria is set nationally.  However, the systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  It should be noted that for these reasons this Force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other response you may receive.
