Request
I seek statistical information on all officers and staff currently on external secondment to organisations such as other forces, international bodies, the College of Policing and HMICFRS.
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below:-
Response Q1
1 Chief Supt - JESG
1 Constable - NPAS
There are a total of 2 officers currently on secondment.
Response Q2
1 Police Staff Salary Grade - E JESG
1 Police Staff Salary Grade - G JESG
There are currently a total of 2 police staff on secondment.
Response Q3
All officers/staff salaries are paid by Dyfed Powys Police, but monies are recovered proportionately from the other 7 Emergency Services in Wales for 1 Chief Supt and 2 Police Staff that are on secondment to the Joint Emergency Services Group(JESG). The Police Constable is on Secondment to the National Police Air Service(NPAS) and we recover the salary costs in full from West Yorkshire Police, the lead force.
Additionally, Dyfed-Powys Police can neither confirm nor deny that it holds any other information with regard to an exempt body as the duty in Section 1(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 does not apply by virtue of the following exemption:
Section 23(5) Information supplied by or concerning certain Security Bodies.
Section 23 is a class-based absolute exemption and there is no requirement to consider the public interest in this case.
Confirming or denying the existence of whether any other information is held would contravene the constrictions laid out within Section 23 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in that this stipulates a generic bar on disclosure of any information applied by, or concerning, certain Security Bodies.
(This is a response under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and disclosed on 11/08/2026)
