Under Freedom of Information since the introduction of Clare's Law please provide the number of instances when police provided disclosure on (i) on request and (ii) voluntarily out of concern for safety, per calendar year ending 31 December 2025.
Clarification Sought:
1) can you please be more specific in timeframe please?
2) The DVDS establishes two procedures for disclosing information, safety and risk management:
‘Right to Ask’ is triggered by a member of the public applying to the police for a disclosure.
‘Right to Know’ is triggered by the police making a proactive decision to disclose information to protect a potential victim.
Is this what you are referring to in points i) and ii)?
