This request seeks recorded information about the arrangements used by your force/service for police-initiated vehicle recovery (including removal, storage and onward disposal where applicable). (This request is made under FOIA 2000, or FOISA 2002 where applicable).
Please answer for the current arrangement(s) in place as at the date you process this request.
Police-initiated vehicle recovery/removal means any instance where the police request, direct or authorise a vehicle to be removed/recovered and/or taken into storage (including to a police/contractor compound) under the force's vehicle recovery arrangements. This includes evidential/seizure removals and non-crime removals (e.g., obstruction/abandoned/uninsured).

1. Type of arrangement: Which best describes your current vehicle recovery provision?
a) Single prime contractor (managing agent) with subcontractors
b) Direct contracts with multiple providers (not a framework)

2. Prime / managing agent (if applicable): If your arrangement includes a prime contractor/managing agent, please provide the company name.
3. Recovery providers used by the force: Please list the company name(s) of the recovery provider(s) that your force/service uses for police-initiated vehicle recovery (i.e., providers your force/service instructs directly or pays directly, and/or those subcontracted by your prime contractor / managing agent).
4. Vehicle disposal providers: Please list the company name(s) of any provider(s) your force/service uses to dispose of vehicles arising from police-initiated recovery, including where vehicles are auctioned, scrapped or broken for parts. If disposal is not part of the recovery arrangement, please state this.
5. Contract dates / procurement: For the recovery arrangement (and disposal arrangement if separate), please provide:
a) contract start date (or call-off start date)
b) contract end date
c) any extension options (e.g., number and length)
d) where recorded, the planned date for the next tender/procurement exercise.
6. Vetting / screening requirements (contractual):
a) Does your contract/specification for police-initiated vehicle recovery require contractor personnel to hold any specific vetting or screening as a condition of working on this contract (e.g., police vetting, DBS, right-to-work checks)? (Yes/No)
b) If yes, please state the required level/type in broad terms and whether it applies to:
i. recovery drivers,
ii. vehicle compound staff,
iii. control room staff,
iv. contract management staff.
c) If the requirement is not specified by role, please state the single minimum requirement that applies to all contractor personnel (or the closest equivalent recorded requirement).
