 Request:

1. Your criteria for the offering of a driver awareness course in relation to speeding offences
2. Your criteria for the offering of a driver awareness course in relation to red light offences
3. Your criteria for the offering of a driver awareness course in relation to driving without due care and attention offences
4. For each of the above whether or not driver awareness courses are offered to new drivers (those within 2 years of passing their first driving test)

 I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested. Please note the below response relates to police officer stops and Op Snap offences.

• We review on a case by case basis – we look at the officers evidence and ascertain where the driver has previously been on an educational course in the past 3 years.

Response 3:

 I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested. Please note the below response relates to police officer stops and Op Snap offences.

• We review on a case by case basis – however generally, if the IP supports prosecution, no serious injuries has been sustained and that the offending driver has not been on an educational course in the past 3 years.

• Generally we offer courses to new drivers however officer’s recommendations are also considered prior to offering a course.
