Request 1 - 4:

1. How many of the following offences were recorded between January 2020 and January 2025:

1. Concealing etc criminal property. Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, section 327.
2. Being involved in an arrangement that facilitates another person's use of criminal property. Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, section 328.
3. Acquisition, use and possession. Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, section 329.

2. For each of these three recorded offences, can you confirm the number of charges made.

3. In how many instances of the listed offences above between January 2020 and January 2025, was the individual concerned recorded as under 18 and separately how many were recorded as under 30.

4. If held, could you please provide the age, gender and/or demographic of the individual concerned

Response 1:

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.

Unfortunately the system used prior to the implementation of NICHE (new police software incorporated 12/05/23) does not break “Profiting from or concealing knowledge of the proceeds of crime” down by these specific offences. However, they can be broken down on NICHE (post 12/05/2023).

2. Arrangements - concerned in arrangement, knows or suspects, facilitates acquisition, retention, use or control of criminal property by, or on behalf of another person (038/02)
3. Acquisition, use & possession (038/03)

It should also be noted that Police forces in the United Kingdom are routinely required to provide crime statistics to government bodies and the recording criteria is set nationally. However, the systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the crime data. It should be noted that for these reasons this force's response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other response you may receive.
