Request:

The number of reported vehicle thefts in the area that you cover, if any, that remain unsolved and occurred between 2020 and 2025.

Response:

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, as outlined below.

Please note that we are unable to gather information on whether a case has been declared unsolved, however the information provided is in regard to case outcomes where no suspect has been identified after an investigation has been concluded and similar outcomes if found.

2020: 18 – 8 with Investigation complete but no suspect identified.

2021: 32 – 18 with Investigation complete but no suspect and 3 with Outcome 14 (Victim declines/ Unable to support action – named suspect not identified).

2022: 65 – 26 with investigation complete but no suspect identified and 1 outcome 14 (Victim declines/ Unable to support action – suspect not identified).

2023: 141 – 58 with Investigation complete but no suspect identified.

2024: 253 – 105 with Investigation complete but no suspect identified.

2025: 277 vehicle thefts – 110 with Investigation complete but no suspect identified.
