To date, Dyfed-Powys Police has not utilised AI or machine learning in relation to crime analysis due to the technology being as yet untested in this area and ethical concerns. The algorithms developed to utilise the power of the machines deal with probabilities and predictions and not certainties. This leads to concerns that any system supported by machine learning / AI could produce unreliable results.
