Request:
I am sending this request under the Freedom of Information Act to ask for the following information:
- How many shootings have occurred within the last three years? Please break down the figures for each of the last three full calendar years (2019, 2020 and 2021).
- How many shootings have occurred within the last three years where the gun was not recovered (to the date this request is received)? Please break down the figures for each shooting in the last three full calendar years (2019, 2020 and 2021).
- How many shootings have occurred within the last three years which led to a suspect being charged? Please break down the figures for each of the last three calendar years (2019, 2020 and 2021).
For clarification, shootings refer to all firearm discharges. Please exclude all air weapons from figures.
Response 1:
Please note: Dyfed Powys police have interpreted this request as relating to crimes only. Consequently, the information provided below relates to crimes only in which a firearm was discharged excluding air weapons. In addition to this the below information therefore excludes any wildlife incidents in which a firearm was discharged.
Please also note that there are a further 6 crimes in which we were unable to confirm if they are relevant to this request.
