Your recruitment targets for April 2023.
1) What is your force's specific target to reach by April 2023?
2) How close are you (in number and percentage) of reaching those targets?
3) Who is responsible for keeping the force on track to reach your recruitment target?
4) If you are not currently on track to reach your target, what area/s of the recruiting process are your biggest challenge?
5) What can be done to provide additional support in these areas?
6) What is your forecast over the next year in terms of applications and actual recruitment?

Response 1 - 7:
I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, the details of which are as follows:
- Dyfed Powys police force target to reach by 31st March 2023 for Police Officers is 1304. There is no target for Police Staff.
- As at 30th November 2022 we had 1269 Police Officers.
- The Force lead for recruitment (i.e. the Senior Manager Recruitment, Selection & Apprenticeships) reports to a Superintendent in Force Uplift Gold, who then in turn reports to the Deputy Chief Constable (DCC). In addition to this there is also a close consultation with the Senior HR Manager Succession Planning & Reward.
- Dyfed Powys police is on track to achieve our target.
- Not applicable – based on the response outlined to question 4
- For the financial year 2023/24, Dyfed Powys police predict that we will need to recruit 64 Police Officers in order to maintain our establishment. For 64 successful applicants, we would need approximately 350 applications.
- The Force lead for recruitment (i.e. the Senior Manager Recruitment, Selection & Apprenticeships), together with the Senior HR Manager Succession Planning & Reward.
