Request:

Please could I have the details of:

1. The number of victims killed by offenders the victim previously reported to your police force for stalking or harassment between 1 January 2012 to 1 January 2022 

2. Please can this be broken down by year, month and date and include each report if the victim made more than one

3. If available, please could I have details of date(s) the victim reported the offender to the police and details of their report

4. If possible, please could I have the name of the victim and offender

Response 1:

I can confirm that Dyfed-Powys Police does hold the information requested, the details of which are as follows:

• For the period covering 01/01/2012 – 01/01/2022 there have been a total of zero (0) victims killed by offenders the victim previously reported to Dyfed Powys police force for stalking or harassment.

Responses 2 – 4:

A response to questions 2 – 4 is not applicable which is based on the zero figure provide in relation to question 1 of the request.

It should be noted that owing to the systems adopted by Dyfed-Powys Police in relation to the recording of such matters the information provided may or may not be accurate.       

Police Forces in the United Kingdom are routinely required to provide crime statistics to government bodies and the recoding criteria is set nationally.  However, the systems used for recording these figures are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  It should be noted that for these reasons this Force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other response you may receive.
