Two Charged in Connection to Stradey Park Hotel Protest, 6 October 2023

Two men have now been charged in connection to the disorder at the Stradey Park Hotel over the past week.
An increased police presence will remain at the site for the time being to prevent any further escalation at the demonstration.
Superintendent Ross Evans said:
“We appreciate that the heavy police presence can feel unnecessary, however, it is our assessment that the level of policing at the protest is necessary for public safety at this time.
“We are asking protestors to maintain the current peace at the site and appealing to them to consider the impact of their actions on the wellbeing of residents in the surrounding area.
“Please be mindful of these people, some of whom are fearful, who have no choice but to endure the disruption to their home lives caused by the protest.
““I would also like to once again thank the policing team who have dealt with the disorder at the hotel site over the past week.
“Public safety remains our priority and we will continue to listen to and work with all parties.”
31-year-old Joshua James Morris, of Heol Gwili, Llanelli has been charged with criminal damage. He appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court this morning (6 October).
56-year-old Peter May of Danygraig Road, Port Tennant, Swansea has been charged with obstructing a police officer and will be remanded into police custody until his appearance at Swansea Magistrates Court, tomorrow (7 October).
The dedicated investigation team continues their enquiries into the events of the past week and further arrests are planned.
