WITS
The Wales Interpretation and Translation Service was created in 2009 for the Public Sector as a one stop shop for all interpretation and translation needs. Cardiff Council has hosted the service since 2017.
The WITS Collaboration Agreement defines the WITS Charges and Interpreter payments, this enables a clear structure for how WITS is funded through the partnership collaboration.
WITS sources and allocates linguistic professionals (spoken languages and BSL) for the public sector throughout Wales, enabling access to public services offered through Local Authorities, NHS, and Police forces.
WITS is a non-for-profit service and is solely funded through its charges.
